Program Notes
House at Dusk was written in 2019 and shares its title with the Edward Hopper painting that inspired it. I was drawn to the painting for its elegant simplicity, and throughout the process of composing this piece, I kept going back to that plain house awash in the blue-green glow of the falling evening for inspiration.
